PHANTOMS FRY MUSKIES, 7-1

The Phantoms extended their winning streak to four Sunday, defeating the Muskies 7-1. Nine Phantoms got in on the scoring, led by Brad Shaw's four points, and Marc Massucci turned away 20 of 21 shots. Shaw now has seven points in the last two games.
Steve Nemitz started off the scoring just over three minutes into the game, and added another later in the period. Dan Mumm added the third tally of the period on the power play to jump to a 3-0 lead after one. Mike Cardinal scored the lone goal in the second period on the power play with 16 seconds remaining. Pete Morrow, Eric Partington, and Shaw would add third period goals as the Phantoms cruised to their 5th win on the season, giving them 13 points in the D1 West Standings.
The Phantoms will face the Leftovers next Sunday at West Side Arena in St Paul. It will be the first meeting between the teams in AHA play. |
