PHANTOMS DEFEAT BATTLE CATS 5-4

In a night full of plenty of Phantoms records and milestones, the Phantoms jumped out ahead on the Battle Cats and held on for the victory, 5-4. Steve Nemitz recorded just the 4th all-time Phantoms hat trick (the 1st against a team other than the Bruins) and Marc Massucci stopped 21 shots in front of the largest attendance in Phantoms history. An announced crowd of 37 fans were on hand to watch the Phantoms remain unbeaten on the season.

After a scoreless 1st period, the Phantoms got on the board when Paul Tischleder got his 1st career Phantoms goal. Steve Nemitz would knock in the next two goals shortly after as the Phantoms jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Battle Cats answered back with two goals to cut the lead to 3-2 heading into the 3rd.Nemitz would complete the hat trick early in the 3rd, and Eric Partington took a nice pass from Brad Shaw to take a seemingly insurmountable lead. The Battle Cats, however, were not finished as they added two more to cut the lead to one with under two minutes to go. The Battle Cats were unable to get the tying goal as the Phantoms crowd roared with approval.
