The Phantoms won their 3rd consecutive game, topping the Roadrunners 4-2. Steve Nemitz recorded his 2nd hat trick of the season, as the Phantoms inched closer to a playoff berth. Marc Massucci stopped 29 of 31 to sweep the season series.
The Phantoms jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st, when Eric Partington slammed home a rebound and Nemitz punched in his own rebound. Nemitz would add his 2nd on a breakaway early in the 2nd to take a 3-0 lead. But the Roadrunners came storming back, cutting the lead to 3-2 with two goals midway through the 2nd. But Nemitz would get the insurance in the 3rd as the Phantoms moved within one victory over the Leftovers to clinch a playoff berth.
